One Passion:

Supporting the craft beer industry through contract brewing

Why Isle Brewers Guild?

In today’s complex craft beer environment, breweries need as much flexibility as possible to sustain a successful business.

Isle Brewers Guild (IBG), with our years of experience and sole focus on partnership brewing, is here to assist. IBG is a craft cooperative that delivers brewing efficiency, increased capacity and packaging flexibility to your brewery without the capital exposure.

IBG works with established mid-to-large size craft breweries from Northeast and across the country utilizing our state-of-the-art facility that is strategically located right off I-95 just north of Providence, Rhode Island.

Our mission is to provide our partners with the highest level of quality, efficiency, and control.

Brewing

The heart of our brewery is an American made 100 barrel 4 vessel brewhouse.  The system includes a dedicated mash mixer with optimal temperature control and the capacity to handle grain bills up to 8500 pounds.  The other vessels include a Lauter Tun with variable speed rakes and different height adjustments, a Wort Kettle with an internal calandria, and an over-sized Whirlpool capable of volumes up to 140 barrels.  We have the capability and experience to produce anything from light lagers to high alcohol imperial stouts and ipas.  We also have extensive experience in hard seltzer production.

The brewhouse is complemented by a large cellar consisting of 17 fermenters and 5 bright beer tanks ranging in size from 100 to 300 barrels.  We can handle a variety of different styles with our four yeast brinks that we use for harvesting, storage, and propagation.  We also have two bulk malt silos and a large specialty grain storage area with both organic and non organic malts and adjuncts.  Dry hopping is handled with a custom hop cannon that has the capability of delivering up to 800 pounds of hop pellets in an oxygen free manner in a matter of minutes.  In addition to our production brewhouse, we have a 10 barrel SS Brewtech pilot system and 5 fermenters that we use to trial new products and develop house beers and seltzers for our on-premise locations.

Quality

Quality is a key ingredient here at The Guild. From start to finish we perform several quality checks throughout a beer's life.

  • Force Wort sample is collected and analyzed to ensure that the heat exchanger is clean.

  • Gravity's performed with our Anton Parr DMA everyday

  • Daily pH and temperature checks.

  • Cell counts are done during fermentation to track how the yeast is growing and performing.

  • Cell counts are also performed on all harvested yeast to ensure that the highest quality of yeast

  • Force fermentations are collected for every batch,

  • Micro samples are also taken from the fermentation tanks and are tested in house via our lab.

  • DO checks of the beer with our Hach 3100 Orbisphere along with several FTU readings with our Hanna Turbidity meter.

  • QA checks are done before and while the beer is being packaged using our Anton Paar CBox.

The Lab

The Guild has a lab on site that continuously monitors beer during fermentation, packaging, and beyond.

  • The Lab tests samples from the fermentation tanks, brite tanks, and canned products,

  • Each sample is tested via HLP (Hsu's Lactobacillus Pediococcus Medium) and Pika Fast Orange Tubes (Lactobacillous, Pediococcus, Pectinatus, Megasphera).

  • A sensory panel is done on all packaged beers.

  • All packaged beers are also stored in a warm environment and  tested every 2, 4, and 6 months to ensure that the canned product is behaving properly and still within the proper specifications.
